GEOL 1030 - Survey of Geology

This is a one-semester survey including topics in physical and historical geology, earth materials, plate tectonics, geologic structures, landforms, geologic time, fossils and earth history. Credit in only one of the following courses can be used toward graduation or general education requirements: GEOL 1030, 1040.

Semester Availability (Subject to Change): Fall, Spring

PREREQUISITE: Acceptable placement scores or completion of all Learning Support Competencies in Reading and acceptable placement scores or completion of all Learning Support competencies in Writing or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 0810 as determined by placement.

COREQUISITE: GEOL 1030 Laboratory

CONTACT HOURS: 45 lecture hours, 30 field/lab hours per semester

General Education: Course can be used to meet Minimum General Education Core requirements.
