EMT Medical Skills Lab is a laboratory based course utilizing scenarios to emphasize EMS operations, communications, documentation, medical/legal/ethical considerations, airway management, respiratory emergencies, cardiovascular emergencies, acute diabetic emergencies, abdominal and gastrointestinal emergencies, urologic emergencies, anaphylactic reactions, behavioral emergencies, assisting with medication administration, and successful assessment of patients with a variety of medical concerns. This course includes application of principles and processes discussed in EMT Medical Emergencies. Semester Availability(Subject to Change): FALL and SPRING - PREREQUISITE: Admission into the EMT program. COREQUISITES:EMSB1601, EMSB 1602, EMSB 1102, EMSB 1111, and EMSB 1112 Contact hours 30 lab hours per semester CAREER COURSE: Designated primarily for vocational/career programs. This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
